Watching the world pass me by, Conversations never ment for me fill the air I blend easily with the shadows The book of my life compared to theirs seems nothing more then nursery rhymes soon to be forgotten with age. Nothing but a phantom, I look and see the world growing, Evolving. These people asking why they are here, Who are they, What is their purpose. While I stand and wonder Why I don't ask the same questions. But I get my answer soon, because ignorance has become a cozy blanket at night.                       She was typing as fast as her fingers would let her. Backspacing, typing, spacing, typing, capitalize, backspace, typing, a cycle had started to form. Yet there was nothing being said. Not a sentence that made sense, not a poem she could be proud of, not a story that could be told. It was meaningless. Nothing but digital junk. The woman tried typing faster while still making sure she spelt words right, whether they fit whatever concoction of sentence she put them in or not. She hoped, urged, screamed that whatever inspiration had struck her to even take up this task in the first place would return to her sight of vision

 I waited at my bedroom door as patient as I could be. Looking through the crack between the door and the wall, I could see the living room with the lights still on. The big green chair where my mom sat watching some Christmas special of some kind I’m sure. I couldn’t see dad, but I was sure he was sitting in the blue chair closer to the T.V, out of the sight of my door. If I looked left of my mom’s chair and squinted a little, I could make out the rainbow lights coming off of the Christmas tree. I was itching for my parents to go to sleep. This would be better for everyone. Yet he couldn't stop the knife from quivering in his hands. Maybe it was the fact that he was in the kitchen where any minute now his mom or dad could walk in and see what he was doing. Or, at least, trying to do. His grip on the steak knife tightened as he aimed right in the middle of his small chest. They don't have to find out, he keeps repeating in his head, as long as I do this quick before I get caught then no one has to stop me. Yet still he couldn't plunge the knife in himself. The child peeked open one of his brown eyes to stare at what he was counting on to release his pain. "I'm just sick of it.

Welcome to a new year. A new year with, hopefully, new technology breakthroughs. By now most of you thought that by 2000 we would be hovering around in flying earth friendly cars, solved world hunger, healthier foods, cleaner burning fuels, cures for the most horrible of diseases. One would think that stereotyping a person's races, and religions would have ended and people would start over and get along better. That children would grow up aspiring to change the world.  Or for some, the end of the world. Needless to say that none of those things have made much progress. Now we enter 2008. This is the last breath I'll take The last day of our lives and it feels nothing but a minute and I have so many regrets and I have so many burdens to bear. The sun is shining like it's got something to celebrate and that's just not fair.
